Prateek. Renaissance nature walk .
Purchasing a property to build your dream home is an exhilarating but terrying adventure. Equally wonderful and intimidating is the process of converting the brick and mortar structure into the place you end up calling home. After having met many of the other standard interior companies in Bangalore and having already booked and canceled our contract with one of them, saying yes to Joby without having seen any of the usual 3D renders etc was not easy. We had to decide solely based on the his past projects and whatever impression we had by meeting him personally. However, today i can say for sure that we were fortunate enough to have ultimately ended up with Joby transforming our property to our dream home.
That transformation journey again was exciting but not easy. Joby is not someone who will simply keep saying “yes” to whatever you ask him to do. He knows a lot and more importantly cares a lot for your home and you to do so. However we too had a lot of ideas about what we wanted and in no case Joby disregarded any of them. Joby was always about patiently listening, understanding, discussing (a lot of times discussing and debating vigorously well into midnight) and eventually envisioning and executing what we really needed and loved. Joby is an artist but pays immense attention to utility and practicality. He is a “luxury designer” who will not let you spend 1k more than what you must absolutely have to. He is not someone who will only sit in his office and do drawings based on some other drawings. He lives and breathes the place, is deeply involved (and hands on) in execution. Anyone who had designed anything knows that you don’t get everything right in the first draft of your design. Design and execution was an iterative process with both Joby and us discovering things and adapting as we went along.
Trust, patience, genuine care, talent and hard work combined to give us the place we have been fortunately living in and enjoying for the last three years. We were also lucky to have built a lasting friendship with the person who built it!
Thanks Joby
